This match, played at Shannon, was a good even game, l’errv scored for Shannon and Maughan converted, and Afita Davis potted a goal for Hui Alai, Mr Foster controlled tlie game. LEVIN (6) V. OTAKI (3). This match was played at Levin. From the kick off it was thought tha; Levin would have a "cake-walk,” as Otaki only started off with twelve! players. Otaki, however, kept Levi; going till a few minutes from half-time when Ilurunui kicked a penalty goal On changing ends the visitors put. thro, i substitutes on, W. 11. Bowden, Kiriontt Atkins, and these players did fair]; well. Taipuu scored for Otaki in j handy position, but Napier missed tin uprights. From this the visitors .maty many forward rushes, and had the lioin-l boys in difficulties'till within two rah] utes from the end, and in a serunth! near the line Kiriontt mulled the but! badly, and Hannon scored. Short!: after the final whistle .sounded. -T. tSmitl carried the whistle.
