OHAU POST OFFICE.
NEW BUILDING PEOMISED AT EARLY DATE. A deputation, consisting of Messrs C. I. Harknes.., J. H. Murray, H. Andrew and A. Whiley, was introduced by Mr W. H. Field, M.P., to tho Hon. Hii W. Fraser, Acting-Post master-General, in Wellington on Wednesday to urge upon the Government the necessity for bu:lding a new post office at Oban. Mr Field-pointed out to the Miniotei that the present building, which was held by tho Government andc-r W.«* expiring' in February next, had, for Y«zu part, been utterly unfit for posi OfSee purposes, was cramped and inconvenient, and really unfit for human habitation. At the request of the Oban people fee had over and orer agaia urged that a tsew po»t office jahouid f>* provided, but during the war period hi could get nothing done.
