RETURNED SOLDIERS’ ASSOCIATION.
OTAKI BRANCH. A committee meeting of the Q.R.S.A. was held in the Druids ’ Hall on Friday last. The secretary was instructed to close with Mr Penn’s quotation for the printing of the Rules of the Association. Three new members were elected. Mr Rudkin (vice-chairman) referred to the kindness of Mr H. Nicolson in keeping various Otaki soldiers supplied with heme newspapers during the whole of their term of active service.—Resolved that the Association write and thank Mr Nicolson for his kindness, and ask him to accept free honorary membership of the Association.' The secretary was also instructed to write to Mr Byron Brown and ask him to use his best endeavours to secure the O.R.S.A. a room for club jiurposcs in the proposed Peace Memorial Building.
The following free honorary members ; were elected: Sister Lewis, Sister ; Powncll and Nurse Simcox. The following honorary members t were elected:—W. H. Field, M.P., Ben. ; Ling, J. D. St. George, Archie Smith, 11. Wiudlej*, J. Davies, George Taylor, A. SatheiTey, Clias. Kilsbv, Hema - te Ao, and Cooper Harvey.
Mr George 11. Harper (honorary solicitor of the Association) was elected as a free honorary member, and the secretary was instructed to write to Mr Harper and thank him for giving his services as solicitor to the Association. The meeting concluded with a vote of thanks to Mr Hone McMillan for the generous manner in which he was helping the local Association by donating the coining picture entertainment and dance free. On the motion of Mr •Tones, Mr McMillan was elected a free honorarv member
