HOCKEY.
Hockey players are noted for their agility, but oven old enthusiasts prove active at times. This was forcibly demonstrated at Otaki on Monday evening, while a party of kockcyists were journeying per cycle, via a short cut, to make a presentation to Mr Wooding, • Viho had rendered the local club a scryieo. The party were proceeding merrily along through Mr L. Kilmister's properly to the racecourse, and the sight being dark, one cyclist, in a picturescjuo spot where there is also a lartfe supply of water, rode over the embankment and disappeared. He took a neat header —quite unintentional it may be added —into the cold, •dark water, and emerged in anything but a comfortable frame of mind. The lau"h was all against him till a second »f the party collided with an obstacle and narrowly missed giving a similar performance. Nothing daunted the party proceeded to their destination, and despito the dripping of water the presentation was made.
