> A “scratch programme” was given at the fortnightly meeting of the above, held oil Monday night last, when there was only a small attendance, due to the wintry weather. The debate set down on the syllabus did not eventuate, owing to the leaders being unable to take up the subject, but the president (Rev. Petrie) said they were willing to take the debate later on in the session, am] it was decided t.o ask them to arrange a date on, an “off” Monday a few weeks hence.

Readings of a diverse nature—pathetic, humorous and instructive—-y.-ero read by Rev. Petrie, Rev. Blathwayt, Messrs J. R. Ingram, T. Collins, E. Lanckcster, and P. It was resolved to hold another children evening on Friday, September 12th, and a sub-committee, comprising Sister Lewis, Miss Hitching, Rev. Petrie and Mr A. R. Rudkin, was set up to carry out the arrangements. The chairman said he had already received several promises of prizes for competitions for the children's evening.

Next meeting of the Club will be devoted to “Historical Otaki,” the arrangements for which are in tlie hands of Mr Frank Penn.
