t “The Undying. Flame,” to be presented to-morrow night, should be witnessed by many. The first part of tlie story takes place in ancient Egypt, . and Mme. Petrova plays the beautiful daughter of a Pharaoh. She is loved ; by a shepherd, but her father refuses to permit her to marry beneath her ‘ rank, and sentences the humble shep- ' herd to death.' Before he is executed the latter breaks in two a double I scarab, giving one portion to the prin- | cess, and requesting that the other part i be buried with him, according to the , superstition that their souls will thus be re-united in a later incarnation. The whole film, both in colour aud detail, is typically Egyptian, whilst no ; expense has been spared to attain a I presentable production. Critics have enthusiastically endorsed it, and so j have the audiences wherever it has been shown. Creditable acting is done by the whole cast, and pleasing titles f and, sub-titles arc suitably inserted, ; which lends an atmosphere of perfoci tion to tlie whole production.
