• some little time ago-the Waikanac Girls' Club forwarded to the Wellington'Red Cross Society the sum of £4O 12s the proceeds of the club's final *-2o'rts in connection with the Red Cross. Mrs Earl, the secretary of the club, has received the following letter from Mrs Nathan, secretary ot the H Z. branch of the Bed Cross Society: "Dear Madam,—Your letter duly received, enclosing money order for £4O 12s I understand from your letter that the club'is closing its Bed Cross jvork. I trust, in case of need, you will fco able to assemble your members, and that the Waikanac Girls' Club will come to the aid of the parent society, as it has always done.
