PEACE CELEBRATIONS.
OTAKI'S PROGRAMME. Elsewhere, the programme for the Otaki Peace" Celebrations will be found advertised. The Grand Procession will leave the Otaki main street at 10 a.m., and march, via Aotaki street and Waerenga. road, to the railway station, where the "Wellington Mission Silver Band will, join, it being found impossible for the band t» leave Wellington till Saturday morning. The procession promises to be a, great success. All who can assist by special efforts in the way of decorations, fancy costumes, etc., should do so, in order to make the procession a worthy one. After arrival at the racecourse the Boyal Proclamation will be read, and several short speeches made by Mr W. H. Field, M.P.. Rev. Knowles Smith, of Wellington, Mr Byron Brown, and possibly others. A sports programme will bo got off, and various amusements provided for young and old. Th'c children will be provided with abundant refreshments, but adults are asked to bring their own eatables. 'An energetic ladies' committee is now busily engaged in making the arrangements for entertaining the children. On Sunday afternoon, at 2.30, the big combined thanksgiving service will bo held in Brights' Theatre, and a very largo attendance is anticipated from all parts- of the district. The visiting band will assist laTgcly at this function.
On Sunday night at 5.15, after the church services, the band will give a grand sacred concert —silver coin admission. This function should bo a most enjoyable one, as the band is a most talented combination. On Monday afternoon tho band will give an open-air performance at tho Sanatorium grounds, wlu-ro all are invited to attend.
