MANAKAU.
TENNIS CLUB. I A w-ell-attendcd general meeting of the Manakau Tennis Qlab members was held on Thursday night last. The secretary (Mrs Mickle) reported that some £26 was in hand for the improvements to the courts. As further funds were needed, it was resolved to hold a special function—concert, followed by supper and dance —on Friday, August Sth. Several subj committees were set up to make arrangements for the function, which will be a specially attractive one, and residents should bear this date in mind. The meeting resolved to request the contractor for the improvements to the courts (Mr Kofocd) to have same completed by the end of September. Mr E. P. Simcox gave notice of motion as follows: —That the members' subscription fees be 7s <>d for ladies and l»s for men; members' entrance fee, ss. Mesdames C. Nccs and \V. Dulzcll left for Wellington this morning.
