During the afternoon Mrs Petrie, the wort he president of the Guild, on be half of the Guild members, presented Mrs Bright with, a valuable -ebonybacked, silver-mounted hand mirror, at the same" time speaking eulogistical ly of their guest and wishing her long life, health, and prosperity in her new sphere. The gift was gracefully acknowledged.
Temporary Captain Walter Taylor i'M.MA. -on of Mr and Mrs G. W. Taylor, of Otaki. who arrived home by the Prinzc-sstn a few days ago, is in ex eelient health. He states that he has had a splendid time on the whole. but D. nevertheless, very pleased to be back home again. After the armistice vras signed. Temp. Catitaio Taylor spent sotoe considerable- tinic vita the New Zealanders: in. Germany, and was much impressed with some of the taM~ out German chile.-. He alec paid a visit t* Italy and the South of l ranee, and during the latter part of hi- leavevisited no Jess than four of the capital cities of Europe—-Borne, Paris.
