LLOYD GEORGE OVATED.
KING DOES HIM HONOUR. London, June 29. Tho King, the Prince of Wales, Prince Albert, and a vast crowd welcomed Mr Lloyd George and the other delegates, including Mr Hughes, at Victoria Station, on their return from Paris. Five hundred' Australians formed a guard of honour outside the station. Responding to the ovation, Mr Lloyd George appeared in the upper window of his residence at 10, Downing Street, and said: "A just peace has been concluded by the labours and sacificcs of men of all classes and all aces. A peace charged with hope has been won for the world. T trust the unity of spirit, .concord and co-opera-tion which has won this great peace will continue, and help to establish a new world, which has been won by tho sacrifices of millions of valiant men. The hideous slaughter of brave men has ended in a righteous peace. Let us thank God, therefore, and rejoice in the great victory, not in the spirit of boastfulnoss which brought about Germany's downfall, but in a spirit of reverence worthy of the noble sacrifices."
