And why can the Diinediiiites buy water biscuits for od per lb while the inhabitants of Napier have to pay SIJdT A 231 b bag of flour costs 4s (id in Christchurch,, and os old in Masterton. while a 71b bag of oatmeal costs 2s -I j<L in Christchurch and :ts in Waihi. Why? And why should the Tnihape citizen pay !Jd for a packet of cigarettes which- the Ashburton tobacconists dispense for 7jd.’ Answers io these questions would throw quite a lot of light on the cost of living question.
