OTAKI FIRE BRIGADE.

A meeting of the'executive committee of the Otaki Fire Brigade was held at Mr G. H. Harper’s office on Friday night to make arrangements relative to the display of a picture on Friday, July 4th, for tho purpose of laising money to tarry on the work of the brigade. It was stated that Mr McMillan had generously offered the use of the theatre and to supply a leading picture for the occasion, the brigade to pay the staff’s expenses and also those incurred by printing. It was reported that all expenses would be light, as considerable reductions had been promised, while to encourage the sale of tickets Mr Tom Wells offered two prizes—7s 6d for first and 2s 6d for second-to tho boys who sold the greatest number. Mr Harper also offered to defray the cost of the tickets, while other members offered assistance in other ways.
