SHORTAGE OF MILK.
(To the Editor.) Sir, —Otaki milk consumers have been placed in a serious po?ition the last few days owing to the serious shortage of milk, and one milk vendor giving up business. The Otaki Town Board ought to immediately come to the assistance by removing the restriction from grazing cows on the public
roads. Cows are a high price, but a working man might be able to scrape up The price of a cow. but not the enormous price required for an acre ot land. Even those who own cows now have not sufficient feed in the paddocks for them, but there is plenty of excel-
lent feed being allowed to waste on the public roads. Grazing should be allowed only in daylight, and for cows alone. At the time of the influenza epidemic the Government t>c 1 for the welfare of the people by imposing many restrictions. Surely now our local authority can net for the welfare of Otaki by removing one restriction—at 'east til! the milk supply again becomes normal —I am, etc.. LET Li YE.
