GOLF.

MANAWATU V. OTAKI. The contests between the Manawatu Golf Club and Otaki are always keenly fought. Saturday's games proved no exception. The match ended in a tie, both sides winning four games and two being halved. Particulars are as follow, Mana-walu players mentioned first:— Barraud beat Kirk;

AV. Seifert lost to Winte'rburn. P. C. Freeth lost to Griffiths. Pavitt lost to Hopkins. McHardy lost, to Brown. Rapley beat. Hedditch. " Ncwcnham and P. Siincox halved. 11. Freeth beat M. Siincox. Bendall and Mackenzie halved. Collinson beat T'odevin. Barraud was at the top of his game, and driving a very long ball played ah excellent round.

The weather was ideal, and the visitors and local players alike spent a most enjoyable day. As usual, the Otaki ladies treated the visitors most hospitably.

The following team has been chosen to play against Johnsonvillo next Saturday:—Wintorburn, Griffiths, Hopkins, Brown, Hedditch, P. Simcox, M. Simcox, D. S. Mackenzie and Podovin. Members of the team are requested to be at the pavilion not later than i. 15 p.m.
