HOCKEY.
The members of the Otaki Club on Wednesday journeyed to Te Horo to meet the members of the Chib there in a friendly contest. Although the home boys again won (5-1) play was net so uneven as the scores indicate, and generally play was of an interesting nature. Both sides showed marked improvement in their play,’ 1 but new members, although shaping well, have still the finer points of the game to learn. Good form was shown, and at the end of the game play was even faster than at the commencement. Mr Harold Small controlled the game in a most able manner.
On Wednesday next the clubs in the district will hold a fivc-aside tournament, and good sport is expected. Members arc practising assiduously, and hope to be in the height of form, therefore the games may bo expected to be interesting. We hope to see several teams “take the field” and hope the public will accord, the “tourney” hearty support. Mr Adsett, the secretary, will be pleased to receive nominations from any dub.
