NEW ZEALAND WELFARE LEAGUE.
ITS OBJECTS. Appended we puljlish the main objects of the New' Zealand Welfare League, recently established:— (1) To organise all men who support stable government and a policy of sane progress favouring no one class of the community; and to induce them to enrol and exercise the franchise.
(2) To oppose the political propaganda of revolutionaries and extremists, while giving support to the legitimate rights and claims of Labour. (3) To educate public opinion with respect to the political problems of tho day, such as the health and well-being of' children, the relationship of employers and employees, the fallacy of the doctrine of restricted output/ the nccossity of increased production to meet interest; pensions, cost of government and increased wages, the repatriation of returned soldiers and their absorption into industrial and commercial activities, the reduction of the cost of living, and generally the promotion of economical and good government to ..ensure the general well-being and happi-. ness of the people. (4) To select suitable and responsible ' men as candidates for Parliament and other public positions and to support and assist ,their candidature. (5) To raise a fighting fund and promote the objects of the League by propaganda and public campaigns throughout New Zealand. (0) To establish branches of the League throughout New Zealand and to co-operate or amalgamate or unite with any association or body in New Zealand having objects wholly or in part similar to the League’s.
