ALDINGTON MARKET. Christchurcli, May 7. At Addington market there was a very large entry of fat sheep, and more cattle were offered, but the yardings in other departments were generally smaller than tho previous week, There was a rather better tone in the store sheep market, and wethers especially sold better. Fat lambs were a little firmer, but fat cattle/wkich were mostly of medium quality, were much easier, though anything really prime sold well up to late rates. The fat sheep market opened at about the previous week's prices, but soon eased off and became irregular, and towards the end a number of lots were passed in. The prices were down from Is to 2s per head, and in some cases more. There was i>oor sale for store cattle, and dealers came down in consequence of a heavy supply and the cheaper beef market. Fat pigs sold well, but horses were slow of sale.

Store Sheep.—Two-tooth ewes 20s Od to 23s 9tl, medium four aud six-tooth ewes 16s 3d to 17s 3d, poorer sorts Ss to 13s, four, six and eight-tooth ewes 0s t 9 ISs 3d, two-tooth wethers 10s to 245, two and four-tooth wethers 20s to 23s Id, good four and six-tooth wethers 22s 3d to 235, medium 17s 3d to 10s, mixed sex lambs 10s to 14s 2d, ewe lambs 7s Id to 13s Id, good half-bred wether lambs 17s Id, others (is 2d to 13s fid.

Fat Lambs.—Extra prime 33s lOd, prime 27s to 30s 3d, medium 24s to 2Gs 6d, lighter 166 Gd to 23s Gd. Fat Sheep.—Prime wethers 32s Gd to 39s Gd, medium wethers 2Ss 6d to 325, lighter wethers 23s Sd to 28s, extra, prime ewes 36s lOd, prime ewes 29s Gd to 32s Gd. medium ew.es 23s Gd to 295, lighter ewes lGs to 235.

Fat Cattle. —Extra prime steers to £24, prime steers £l4 to £lB 10s, ordinary steers £7 to £l3 10s, extra prime heifers £ls 10s, prime heifers £ll to £l4, ordinary heifers £6 2s Gd to £lO 10s, extra prime cows, to £l6 10s, prime cows £lO 10s to £l3 10s, ordinary cows £7 to £lO.

Store Cattle. —Calves £2, eightceunioaths £3 ss, dry cows £2 to £6, -bulls £4 5s to £lO, dairy cows £-7 to £lB 15s.

Pigs.—Choppers £4 to £lO lis, baconers £5 10s to £S 4s (equal to 9d to 9Jd per lb), porker* £2 5s to £3 15s (equal to lOd per lb), best stores £2 10s to £2 16s, medium £2 to £2 Ss, smaller 22s to 30sj weaners 12s to 21s,
