SOUTHERN GRAIN AND PRODUCE.
The principal feature, of the grain market for some days past, (says a Christ church, telegram) has been the rush oh the part of some forward sellers of oats to cover their sales. The demand was keen for a few days, but the position is now easier. The nominal price of oats-at country stations has advanced, but apparently, is not yet sufficient to induce farmers to sell any more freely than they have done hitherto. A grade Gartons arc now quoted at 3s 9d to. 3s lOd at country stations, and B grade at 3s Od to 3s Sd. Good Algerians are also in keen demand at up to 3s 6d, and Danish are worth 3s 3d to. 3s Gd. Oatsheaf chaff has also advanced in sympathy with oats, and is now worth £-5 to £0 5s per ton at country stations. Linseed is firmer, and the quotation is £l3 7s (id to £ls 10s at country stations. White clover and cocksfoot are still slow, of -sale. Cowgrass is worth lid and Is Id. Potatoes show further firmness, and £0 lis is now about the average price at country stations.
