MONTHLY MEETING. The monthly meeting of tho abovo was held last night. Present: Corns. H. H. Olliver (in the chair), J. Meads, W. H. Reynolds, H. Nicolson, P. Bikiknna. An apology for unavoidable absentee was received from the chairman (Com. Brown). . ' | Correspondence. Correspondence was read and dealt with as follows: — ! From Palßierston North Hospital Board, forwarding a copy of proposed : arrangement suggested by Dr. Whitakcr, asking for co-opcratiou in a clean-up week, and that in case of a recrudescence of tho epidemic the question of purchaso of equipment in tho case of any temporary hospital established in the Board's area be loft t» the hospital representative of tho dlv, trict.—Left in tho hands of tho chair, man and Com. Nicolson.
j From same, forwarding suggested ae- '• tion in caso of a fresh outbreak of influenza, viz., asking them to have adI vortisements inserted immmsdiately in tho papers calling for volunteers, t» servo as attendants in temporary hospitals; to supply and maintain a ser'vice of cars; to serve an nurses in homes with special reference to night attendance in bad cases; to have a complete list of bureau workers; to establish a thorough clean-up; to supply inspectors to investigate bad cases; and to keep in touch with the hospital superintendent as to any suspecte<!l cases, etc. —Left to tho chairman and Com. Nicolson to deal with. From Palmerston North Hospital Board, forwarding statement of estimated cipendituro for the year ending March 1920, also of estimated income for tho same year.—Received. From Dr. Pomare, stating that a Native collector tie dog-tax was_ now actively engaged in collecting tho tax— Com. Rikihana pointed out that there v.as no mas collecting the tax, and it was decided to again write asking that the collection of the tax be put in the hands of the Board.

| * Condolence. | A vote of condolence was pasted to ic-x-Com. J. Noble and family on account of tfeeir rcccEt bereavement. Deputations. It was decided that in future no deputations be received unless 24 hours' notice bed been bwJ. Billiard Kaloocß. A letter was received from W. F. Edwards and Tere Turu Haaiohona, asking that the hsurs for billiard saloons be extended to 1 p.m. As three members of the Board were absent it was decided to leave the mat* -ter tifl next meeting. Sanitation. The sanitary inspector wrote reverting having inspected pig-styes at various places Sa the town area, and all, with one exception, were found satisfactory. A cess-pit in the centre of tie town was out of order. It was decided ta ask the inspector to put in a full report oa the saaitiry condition of the 'terra. Accounts. "'.
