HYMN OF PEACE.

Among tho hymns to be sung at tho Otaki Peace celebrations, at the combined service, is tho "Hymn of Peace," specially composed by a New Zealand -soldier "as a paen of praise and thanks giving for this great occasion. The hymn has been handed by the joint composers as a free gift to our returned soldiers, and the whole of the profits from its sale are to go to their funds This hymn, has been accepted by a great'many organisations, and will bi sung practically all through New Zea and at the peace ceebrations. Th< words are as follows: — mf Smoke of battle rolls away, Throes of Armies cease; Clear above tho turmoil Breaks the dawn of Peaee. Chorus: f Won by the sword for us; i Born out of death for us; i Bringing new life to us; i 'Stabiishing Freedom's cause Ending the scourge of warsI Glorious, God-given Peace! I f Triumph glorifies our Flag, i Giving tyrants pause; Vict'ry rich with honour Crowns our righteous -cause.
