| TO MISS BURBUSH. ' To mark the esteem in which Miss ; M. Burbusli, who is leaving South Feaj thorston to assume a position on the staff of the Otaki school, is held by the residents of the district a largely ' attended social gathering was held in the .ei oolroom on Wednesday evening. • The first part of the evening was Je- : voted to a much appreciated concert?,! programme, contributed to by Mas--dames Piehlhouse and Bell, Misses i Jean and Nellie Ottaivay, SergeantMajor 8011, 1 and Messrs J. H. liouso and H. Graham, Mrs Fieldhausc playing the. accompaniments. Mr J. W. McKeown, chairman, of the school committee, presided, and following upon a speech highly eulogistic of the services j rendered to the parents concerned, the ■ scholars,-and the people of the district i generally, her work not only as a ! teacher, but as a prominent helper duri nig the epidemic period and during the j work in connection with Red Cross | efforts being especially mentioned, pre- | seated the guest of tho evening v; a ! beautiful gold necklet and peafian., ’ a cheque. Musical honours and cheers wore Accorded Miss Burbusli, who replied in an appropriate speech. Dancing to music provided by Mr -T. Buck and others was continued till midnight.
