A meeting to make arrangements for peace celebrations will be held in tho public- school on Tuesday at S p.m. It is hoped the attendance will be large.

At tho recent school committee meeting the retiring secretary, Mr Air Atkins, was heartily thanked for his past services^to the committee, and eulogistic reference was made to the efficiout way way ha had carried out his dutio*. Mr Atkins, in acknowledging the compliment, regretted that he was unable t® again take up the secretaryship. The following team of tennis players will leave by the early morning train on Easter Monday for Shannon, to try conclusions with a Shannon, team: Mesdames Mickle and Atkins, Misses Maney, Cotter (2) and Robinson, Messrs Grey, Andrew, Ropata, George, Burnell and Edginton. ' s Mr J. D’Ath has left for Auckland, to meet his son, Private Geo. D’Ath, who is returning by the,hospital ship Mnheno —invalided home. Private Marshall, sou of Mr G.
