GERMAN PRISONERS
110 SAILING BY WILLOCHBA. After four years and a-half spent in internment, the German prisoners of war held in New Zealand are. now about to be repatriated. On the 39th instant 410 will sail by the Willochra. via Australia, for repatriation in Germany. The contingent includes all those prisoners hell! in New Zealand who desire to be repatriated to the Fatherland. These comprise the whole of those in internment at Narrow Neek Camp. Auckland, and 170 of those in •Feathers!on Camp, leaving a balance of 200 odd at Featherston who do not wish to go back to Germany. Those sailing by the Willoehra on the opt It include the following German officials from Samoa: —Dr. Schultz {exGovernor), Herr A. Mars and W. Meyer (Dr. Schultz’s secretaries), Dr. G. Sessons (Agricultural Adviser), Herr Max Hirsch (wireless expert), Dr. G. Schubert. Herr Otto Sperling (Customs officer), and Herr J. Heuniger (general adviser). Count von Luekner and Lieut. Kireheis, of the German raider Sea Addler, are also included in the draft. The contingent will sail under an ,(spied guard. Their repatriation is being carried out under the direction of the British Government. The YVillochm on arrival in Australia will be lilted up with other German prisoners, of whom, it is understood, Australia has no less than <SOOO to repatriate to Germany.
The fate of the German prisoners of war left over in New Zealand has yet jo be .determined. S?ome. of them have ruq'Jested to be repatriated to Samos.
