GOOD-BYE MESSAGES.

r Sir^Before • leaving Otaki, I beg an importunity to draw your local readers', attention -to' a couple of matters.; i. In severing my connection with Prohibition work locally, I would like to report (unlike tho Moderate League) on our finances. Our expenses in the Otaki district totalled £3l 19s. This amount was made up of theatre and hall hire, car hire, advertising,'stamps and stationery and .organiser's salary and expenses. Our income has amounted to £23 5s 4d, made up of collections £5 19s 4d (included being Id contributed at an open-air' meeting by an interested listener), and donations, one of £5, one of £3, nine of ,£1 each, and smaller 'sums '6s. The bal-'anc-e on tho wrong.side is""£B 'l3s""S3. Any local-sympathiser is invited to jielp'to wipe this out before I leave,. I 'gratefully acknowledge the above assistance, also .the help given by cars, by our shop, by hospitality, and by assistance on.polling day. One cannot I mention names. -
2. The other matter is the Gymnasium Club. I hope to see the due amount of interest in this, splendid movement at thei annual meeting -next week.
