.Sergeant- "Mick ’’ O’Halloran, at one time a well-known Otaki resident, is returning by the Willochra.

The Misses Tompsitt (2) left luis morning on.a holiday visit-to Hactilii, expecting to be away several weeks.

aro Privates Ernest Brown (Waikanae), and Lance-Corporal J. H. Baucke (Parapara umu). Lance-Corporal G. Graham (Ohau) died on route.

It is the intention, within the next month or, six weeks, of two well-known Ohau residents —Messrs L. G. Lester and H. C. Bheargold—together with their families, .to leave for Canada, where they propose taking up farming in Nova , Scotia, one of the eastern States.

Wo regret to hear that news has been received to (he c-ffecl- that Trooper Harold .Jepson, of Waihoanga, who is now in England, has contracted pneumonia, and is reported‘-to be dangerously ill. Trooper Jepson has seen much active service over an extended period. His many friends will wish him a speedy recovery.

Sergeant A. H. Rudkin (M.M.), who has been an inmate of the soldiers’ hospital at Rotorua, expected his discharge this week, having, in his own words, improved a hundred per cent since his return. During his stay in Rotorua Scrgt. Rudkin has been a busy man, and among other duties has been chairman of the recreation fund and general welfare committee. He now intends to got away to the West Coast (5.1.) for a time, but hopes to return north to start duties again ere Jong.
