RESULTS OF OTAKI ROLL. SMALL MAJORITY FOR PROHIBITION. Keen interest was taken in tho poll in var ous parts of the Otaki elect irate, though the voting was not so heavy as that of 1914, and quite a number of people abstained from voting. In Otaki polling went on quietly but steadily all ; day. A goodly number of motor cars I were kept busily plying to and from the Courthouse, but there was no d'e- | monstration, and but little excitement ; was displayed. Tho proceedings | throughout were most orderly, i Tho Otaki results were announced in ' good time, and other returns quickly followed. Tho results were displayed at the “Otaki Mail” office, whore a very largo crowd had assembled. The results were greeted with expressions j of surprise, regret and pleasure by different sections of those present, but tho behaviour of tho crowd was excellent, and there was no misbehaviour. The final results for the electorate were announced at about 9 p.m. Outside results came to hand slowly, and the crowd waited patiently until after 11 p.m., by which time it was seen that there was a Prohibition majority for tho Dominion. / Following are the results of .the polling at Otaki on tho licensing question, together with the comparative figures for tho last Dominion option poll, taken in 1914:' —
