NEARING THE END.
LLOYD GEORGE’S APPEAL. A DELICATE SITUATION. \ Paris, April 6. Lloyd George interviewed by ‘‘Lo Matin” to-day begs the public ,to give the ‘‘Big Four” another fortnight’s credit. He said: ‘‘ls that too much to asl: for those who are attempting .the gigantic.task of rebuilding the world? AVe are nearing the end and will finish before Easter.” The statement is generally interpreted as meaning that the leaders are making a filial appeal far patience. To-day one of the delegates very close to Lloyd George was asked if it meant that the crisis was over. “No,” he said. ‘‘Japan,. Italy and France may yet withdraw, but that is unlikely, ft is probable that some agreement will lie reached. AA’liat is the main trouble ■now is that in. order t-o reach an agreement vital preliminaries ’ are being sacrificed. Peace may be the laughingstock of the world, unbalanced and seemingly pro-German. The next fort-night-will be extremely important.”
