N.Z. FARMERS' UNION.

MANAKAU BRANCH. Asuceessful meeting of the Manakau branch of the Farmers' Union was held on Friday, April 4th. Mr G. H. Kingdon having been voted to the chair, business was proceeded with. The correspondence lead to a lengthy discussion subscription fees, and eventually, it was decided to adopt the scalo suggested by the provincial organiser, Mr Tailored A. Cooper. Tho scale is rfs follows to £SOOO capital value, £1; £7OOO, £1 10s; £IO,OOO, £2; £15,000, £3; £20,000, £4; over £20,000, £5 (maximum). . Two remits were put through, to como up before the sub-provincial executive on April 17th in Palmerston, when. Mr P. Simcox will attend as delegate.

Tho same delegate was appointed to attend the Dominion Conference, which opens in Wellington on May 27th. After a lengthy discussion had taken place upon various subjects affecting the Union as a whole tho meeting closed.
