HIDE AND CALFSKIN SALE.
The N.Z. Farmers ' Co-op. Distributing Co., Ltd., report, a fair offering of Hdi* and calfskins nt the fortnightly auctions on Friday last. The buying lacked briskness, competition being restricted owing to the question of export still being unsettled. Brices for hides were practically on par with last side, if anything slightly easier. Caliskina were from Id to 2d per lb easier. Tallow: Slightly better, but still a poor demand. ; ange of prices as follows: — Bides: Ox heavy, 001 b and up, and ox medium, 501 b to 501 b, lid to 15d; ax light, 451 b and under, 10|d to llld; cow, heavy, 551 b and over, and cow medium, 421 b to 541 b, Old to 12d; cow, Light, under 321 b, lOd to 10 jd; cut, slippy and inferior, 5d to 10£d; bull, stag. G£u to fid: y Carlings, 101 b to 241 b, 7fd to 12 id; calf, superior, up to ICib, 13d to ISd; calf, medium to good, | •_ to 101 b, lid to laid; calf, damaged, -I p to 161 b, 6d to 12»d. f Tallow: In casks, 24* to 31s; in tins, etc.. 16s 6d to 27s Cd.
