j WAIKANAE STOCK SALE,
The Loan and Mercantile Agency Co., Ltd., report:— At Waikanae on Wednesday we held our usual monthly stock sale. A good yarding of- sheep and a small entry of cattle met with a total clearance at the following prices:—Medium fat ewes 26s 6d to 22s 6d, 2-tooth wethers 23s 3d -to 14s la, 2-tooth ewes 22s to 14s, aged ewes 14s to 7s, good woolly lambs 11s 3d to 12s Sd, small lambs Os Id to 6s 3d, mixed sex weaners £2 4s 6d, dairy cows £9 to £lO 10s. ADDINGTON MARKET. Christchurch, March 26. At the Addington market there were much smaller yardings of fat stock, and prices of everything recovered to almost the rates ruling before the previous week’s drop. The rise in fat lambs was about 3s, in fat sheep to 4s per head, and prime cattle 20s to 55s per head. The store sheep market was
a little firmer without actual improvement in prices, except, for ewes and store cattle also met with a better sale. Had the sou ’-wester that set in the day before brought more rain no doubt the store, stock market- would have been: firmer. Dairy-cows were .in good demand, but pigs were rather dull of sale.
