To tho Editor. j Sir, —It is suggested that the Union have for its aims and platform tho following:—Objects.—(l) To promote J the welfare and protect tho interests of the farmers of Now Zealand. (2) To encourage enlightenment and peaceful solution in difficulty or dispute arising ! from class, race, creed, party, or com- j mcree. (3) To defend tho community and tho Empire against unjust aggression from within or without, and on- , sure sound progress. (4) To foster, - maintain and apply those generally ac- , cepted principles of justice and altru- : ism in all relations between men. Flat- j form—(l) That our chief need being an enlightened, contented and thriving yeomanry or working farmer class, land settlement under conditions ensuring prosperity to honest and energetic working farmers is the urgent need of bur time and our-first care. (2) That hidden immoral and selfish methods of insatiable - capitalism shall be- brought to light and restrained by every moral means! (3) That immoral, selfish anil insatiable aims and demands of extreme anti-social forces, - under tho guise of labour organisations or other aegis shall be defeated, and reasonable grievances removed. (4) That farm, trade and commencial or other workers be encouraged to organise, exchange views, clear away prejudice and misunderstandings, and co-operate for mutual benefit and public weal.—T am, etc., EA r ELYN MACDONALD, President To Horo Fanners’ Union.
