MEMORIAL SERVICE.
THE LATE MS- RICHARD BOOTH. During the course of his address at (he memorial service at All Saints’ Church, Otaki, last night, the Rev. G. F. Petrie, in making reference to the late Mr Richard Booth, said that gentleman had been a churchwarden for many years, during which time he had always-had the interest of the church at heart. Mr Booth would be much missed. Be had been among the first to welcome him (the speaker) to the district, he had bestowed upon him words of kindness and encouragement, and no vicar could have had a more faithful friend. For patriotic purposes Mr Booth gave generously, while bowlers would always hold him in high esteem. They saw in him a good man. and one that played the 'game for God and man. The Rev. Petrie eulogised Mr Booth’s many estimable qualities, and said ho had fought a good fight, and bis earthly work for God bad boon well accomplished; he had now entered ' Hie glorious/ inheritance in Heaven. The Rev. Petrie, in conclusion, asked for the prayers of those who loved him best for deceased’s relatives. Special lessons were read and hymns rendered for tlic occasion, while at tho conclusion Mrs Blatlnvayt played “The Dead March.”
