BOWLING.

OTAKI V. NEWTOWN. Two rinks from the local Bowling. 'Club visited Wellington on Saturday last, and tried conclusions with members of tho Newtown Club. The weather was delightful, the green,in good order, while the Newtown bowlers did their very utmost- to make the day an enjoyable one for the -visitors—not without success. The Otaki bowlers won the match by the narrow margin of leu points on the aggregate. Following are details of the play. Otaki players mentioned first' in each instance: —

i Ayrc. Knight, Ollivo'r and Windley j (s) lost to Hunt, Blonkcnsop, Bracken'- \ bridge and Noble (s)—ls-23. Ayrc, Knight, Windley and Olliver j (s) won from Green, Caterer, Powell and Robins (s)—2o-10. Gooding, Noble, Brown and Bills (s) I defeated Green, Caterer, Robins and ! Powell (s) —10-7. , Gooding. Brown, Bills and Noble (s) jjost lo Hunt. Blenkensop, Noble and I Brackcnbridgo (s)—l2-13. I It is hoped to play a return match at ! Otaki on Saturday week.
