BOWLING.
A very interesting game of bowls was pioy-cd on the local green on Saturday, when Captain Slipper. 11. (J. Kirk. Pettigrew, and J. P. Brandon, visitors to the town, played Nicholß A. Smith, O’Rourke, and Sathcrley (s). On the last head the visitors lay- three, but a fine shot by Sathcrley saved the situation, and the Otaki-ites won, 21-19.
Playing on the local green on Saturday R. F. Smith defeated Bev. Petrie in a singles contest. Otaki defeated Newtown at Wellington on Saturday by the narrow margin of 10 points. Details of the play will appear in our next issue.
