To the Editor. ! Sir, —I was very pleased to read I your energetic article on the above.? track.. My committee,in .Greytown have dono.all it can do to . make»thls "tourist tramp" a pleasant one, and spent a large amount of money. It now behoves the good people of Ptaki to bestir themselves and improve that side of the mountain. My committee is prepared to donate £'for £ for a nut between, say, Dennan and Hector-if vou on that side will erect it. We Tvill assist any way wo can, but it stands to-reason a committee on your side! could control the work much easier than we could from Greytown. We j have three huts at our disposal (Waio- j nine, Tauherenikau, and Alpha), and j with another all-wquldbe well: I notice it is proposed to have a now committee, and that should give, the movement a new fillip.. When wo have,jointly done our best I hope the Tourist Department will step in and help us. The general manager has already been very.generous and. will, I trust,- still further help to give this enjoyable jaunt greater publicity.
