FOR REMEMBRANCE.
A MILITARY .MEMORIAL CHAPEL. The desire to immortalise the battlefields where Xcw Zealand soldiers have died, is vc-ry strong in almost every heart. At Trcntham Camp, for example, there is a long line of stone-enclosed roscbe'df, and on each flower bed is a stone which carries the name of a battlefield-. It is a beautiful thought.' for whenever the roses bloom it is like » a fresh blaze of glory for those who fell, another wreath of flowers upon their far-off graves. The organisers of the appeal for funds to build an Anglican Cathedral in Wellington have the same purpose in mind, and the Cathedral will embody all the natural hopes and griefs and memories
of -.in ardent, earnest people. The west wing of this handsome, majestic building will be a soldiers' memorial chapel. It will be dedicated to St. George, the national saint of England, ami here will be enshrined the narac% .and deeds of those unselfish men, not forgetting our Maori brother:-, who left homes end loved ones and prosperity, to cross the (teas and "fight the great fight with all their might"—and to die in the cause of freedom.
