PARAPARAUMU NOTES.
Mr Malcolm Maclean has resigned the chairmanship of the local school committee in view of his early departure on a trip to Scotland. Mr C. Reeve has been appointed to fill the vacancy. Mr J. Killick met with a painful injury through a small piece of brick becoming- embedded in one of his eyes, which necessitated treatment in Wellington. Mrs Robertson, who has been in tho Otaki Hospital for the past eleven weeks, is'now staying with her daughter, Mrs W. F. Williams, of Raumati. Mrs Robertson speaks in tta highest, terms of appreciation of the attention she received from all members of the hospital staff. Private T. P. Dunne returned from active service on Saturday evening, and given a hearty reception on the station by a large number of residents. The Boy Scouts, under Scoutmaster L. .J. Howell and Assistant-Scoutmaster P. Beckett, are making- excellent progress. The patrols under Leaders G. Capper, G, Maclean and R. Howell now form the troop which "meet every Saturday for practice. A welcome home social is to be held to-morrow night, when eight local boys who have returned from active service will be the guests of the evening.
