At Wanganui on Saturday the weather was fine and the attendance large. Wanganui Stakes, Menelaus L : Dusky Eve 2, Bqwi Poto 3; Harrison Handicap, Paddington Green; Farewell Handicap, Silver Link. v , i During the last week or two the fame of Desert Gold has crept, as it spread , with added lustre over the world, into many remote corners, even into the seats of Biblical learning.. In a New Plymouth Sunday school the little ones were imbibing the principles of a certain lesson, in which occurred a story relating to gold. Some importance attached to this gold, it was a strong j point in the story, so -the teacher' said: “James! Will you remember about the gold?" Little Jimmy: “Please teacher. Yes, teacher." Teacher: “How will you remember about the gold?" Little Jimmy: “Please teacher, because dad was ‘on’ Desert Gold." The teacher was satisfied, and the lesson continued.
