“ THE PRICK MARK,” To-morrow night the above film will be shown at the theatre. The following is the synopsis;—Two Americans, lidding Powell, an artist, and Dr. Daniel Melfi, are visiting in Cairo, Egypt, when Powell becomes enamoured of Nakhia, a native girl. As soon as her brother, Hassah, a rug dealer, learns of the affair, he secretly attempts to take the. life of Powell*. Dr. Melfi brings Powell tc New York immediately ilie latter is convalescent, and with them comes Hnssan, in the capacity of a servant to Powell.
Powell is a successful and popular artist, and to his studio comes Paula Fee, a beautiful young girl from an Ohio town. Possessed of an unusually line voice, the girl had hoped to proetire a theatrical engagement, but, failing in this effort, she becomes a model for Powell. He.soon comes to love the gill with a-devotion so sincere that, ho wants to marry her. A misunderstanding then separates Paula and Powell, and she meets Dr. Melfi. who is ignorant of the fact that they were known to each other.
I aula and the doctor are married, and are supremely happy. After a time tlie doctor invites Powell to meet his wife, declaring her to be the “sweetest woman in the world.” The mutual recognition causes Paula to fear that Powell will disclose their former relations to her husband, and Powell threatens to do this unless Paula consents to come to sec him that evening. Thinking to avoid the exposure, Paula' agrees to Powell’s demand, anil, later, in tlie artist’s rooms, (lie girl makes a brave and determined tight for her honour.
In the uiidsl of the tens* struggle between Powell and Paula. Hnssan see.* an opportunity to avenge his .sister, and happiness conics once more into tho life of Paula.
