The Cathedral throughout will be the gift of a grateful people desirous of expressing in practical form their thankfulness to God for one or more of the above reasons. Towers, transepts, arches, windows, porches and all other parts will be given as Thankofferings and Memorials. The Cathedral will provide a dignified place for the conducting of suitable services on occasions of great National rejoicing or mourning.' It will be the centre of religious activity—a church devoid of pew rents, to which the public will always have access. It will be a building in keeping with the importance of Wellington as the supreme geographical, commercial and political centre of New Zealand. £150,000 will enable the main parts of the Cathedral to be birlt at an early date. Subscriptions may be made in the form of Government Stock, War Bonds, Legacies, or promises of cash spread over a period of one to five years.
