PERSONAL.

Mr and Mrs R. A. Patterson, of Wellington, arc visiting Mrs Bradley, Rahui Hoad, Otaki.

Mrs Gerald Anderson, Otaki Railway, is at present enjoying a holiday in Duncdiu.

Mr A. Hawke, postmaster at Foxton, is at present confined to his bed through illness. *

Among the visitors to the Otaki seaside resort is Dr. Marion White, of Duncdiu.

Constable Satherley leaves Otaki tonorrow for Wanganui, where he will pond the remainder of his holiday.

Inspector M'Kinnon, in charge of this police district, was among the visitors to Otaki to-day, conducting police cases at the local S.M. Court.

The Rev. G. F. Petrie leaves Wellington to-morrow en route for the South Island. The major portion of his holiday will be/spent in the-Sounds.

Constable- Satherley, who has been on' furlough in Auckland, has been obliged to return to Otaki, on account of Court business, before completing his holiday.

Private Con. Noble, son of Mr and Mrs J. Xoble, of Otaki, who has been On active service for some considerable time, is expected- home in tho course of a few days.

The Misses Kilsby (2), of Otaki, re-' turned home a few days ago, after spending three weeks' holiday in Now Plymouth, during which time they made the ascent, of Mount Eguiont.

The Wellington Education Board has accepted the resignation of- Mr S.< Duncan, late schoolmaster at Waikamic. Mr Duncan returned to. New Zealand some little time back, after much ac.tive service. - \

Mr and Mrs J. Bradley, who have been residents of Otaki for some considerable time, during which period they have made? many friends, hope to take up residence in Australia in the near future.

The many friends of Mr G. Kilsby, of Koputaroa. who has been laid aside with illness for several weeks past, will be glad to know that he is improving in health, though still confined to his bed.

The loath has occurred of Mrs T. C. Dunckley, daughter of Mr and Mrs Austin, v. ell known residents of Foxton. Deceased took a keen interest in the work of St. John Ambulance aud tiie Presbyterian Church, and was an active member of the Croquet Club.

Lieut.-Colonel Guy Ponies, CM.tr., 8.5.0., X.Z.S.C.. of Wellington, and at cue time "a resident of Otaki, who serv, ed with distinction in Egypt, Gallipoli, Sinai, and Palestine for four years, was transferred io France in October last, and served only about a fortnight there, when the armistice was signed. ile i< now undergoing a staff training course at Cuius College. Cambridge. The .many friends of Mr Bradley, of .lahui , Otaki, will be oleased to learn that since his operation he has made wonderful progress, and that there are now great hopes of his recover}-. Mr Bradley has been a sufferer for some considerable time, and for many weeks past has been an inmate of Dr. Hardwick Smith's private hospital in Wel- , lington.

Mrs A. Bauchop, widow of Lieuten-ant-Colonel Bauchop, C.M.G., who was killed at Gallipoli in August, 1915, has since been living in. England with her infant daughter. For some time past she has been engaged in massage work at the New Zealand convalescent hospital at Horuebureh. Mrs Bauchop, at one time a resident of Waikanae, cx j peefs to leave for Xew Zealand immediately.

Private A. B. McDougall, son of Mr and Mrs A. McDougall, of Te Horo, returned to New Zealand by the Wiltshire, which arrived in Wellington early this morning. Private McDougall. who enlisted from Tokomaru, left New Zealand with the 9th Kein : forceuiC-nts, and ha> seen much active service in Egypt aud Palestine. Mr A. McDougall has three sons who served with the Expeditionary Forces. One son. Private Koland, returned homelast week, while the third son, Frank, at last advices was helping the New Zeulandets to hold the German line. He is now probably in 4 be neighbourhood' of the Jlhine. .
