PNEUMONIC INFLUENZA.
OFFICIALLY DIAGNOSED IN.:. NEW SOUTH WALES. Sydney, Mt it lay. The Board o£ Health lias finally decided that influenza has obtained a footing in New South Wales. The committee which visited the Rand wick Hospital has diagnosed the suspicious cases, all of which had been contracted in Melbourne. The Director of Quarantine has been officially notified to that effect, and requested to proclaim the State affected. Schools, theatres, picture shows, and other indoor amusements will be closed, “ S.O.S. 1 ' cards on New Zealand lines are being distributed. All steamer passengers from Melbourne will be medically A Red Cross campaign to combat the scourge has commenced. Masked v.'a.d.’s are patrolling certain districts, distributing literature.
