V.D. CASES.

WATRARAPA .PEOPLE .SUGGEST KAPITI ISLAND, Wellington, Monday. Last night a South Wairarapa deputation waited on Sir James Allen and requested that V.D. cases be removed from Featherstou Camp. .They suggested that Kapiti Island might be. used. The Minister said the authorities had had difficulty in dealing with these men, but he did not think the idea of securing the island feasible. In any case the whole thing would be over in the course of not many months. He hoped the troops would all be back in nine months. Cases coming back now were comparatively few. Most of those now in ■Featherstou were in the con- ; valescent stage, and the place ought tr) be cleared altogether in the course of a year. He appealed to the neonle of Wairarapa to put up with the arrangement.
