MAORIS COMING HOME.
TO BE WELCOMED AT GISBORNE. Gisborne, Jan. 2-1. Captain Pitt, secretary of the Executive of the Maori Soldiers’ Fund, to augment' which a big “hui” is to In held in March, announced that about 1200 of the Maori. Pioneer Battalion will land in Gikbornc from England. If the second transport, with SOO Maoris, arrives at the same time, both will disembark at Gisborne in March. Arrangements are already being made for welcoming the, soldiers.
