OIL LAUNCH TRAGEDY.
BOAT- TURNS. TRRTLE. New Plymouth, Jan. 21. ■ The oil launch Mahoo, owned by C. A. Ogle, of AVaitiirn, bound' from Slarokopu to Waitarn, was approaching Waitara bgtwccn live and six p.m., when she struck the bar and turned turtle, and drifted on the reef. Capt. Roberts is missing, tlio engineer (Jamieson) is believed to be entombed. Two passengers,' one a son of the proprietor, and another youth named Jury got ashore ill a boat with George Millar, the third member of the crew. An attempt was made at low tide to release the engineer, but the fipfies prevented operations. f There was a fair sea at the time of the disaster* , The vessel was about 20 tons, and was carrying a load of wool and heavy deck cargo.
