HATAITAI V. OTAKI. The weather for the holiday was by ro means ideal, but still rain held off, and enjoyable matches were played between the Ilataitai and Otaki Clubs on the Otaki green. Neither club was fully represented, but the games nevertheless were all pleasant ones, and the f, na l looked forward to with interest, especially as the result was in doubt to the last. Owing to rain, which ieii during the early morning, the green was a trifle heavy, but still there were no complaints. . Following are the results, Hataitai being mentioned first in each in-

stance: — Henry, Hendry, Penney, Kinniourgli (s) v. Bramlev, Gooding, Ay re, Olliver start, increased their lead as they went, and won without an effort. Otaki scored on eight heads only. Ridley. Jeffries, Ward, Giles (s) v. Knight.' St. George, Petrie, D. Noble / g \ 2 c-27. This proved an exciting otaki established a substantial load cariv in the game-12-3 on the 6th head, but after this Kataitai scored a four, three threes, and two twos, and 0R the 14th head -.were 21-13 to the good. Otaki men added three threes and a couple of twos, and on the 21st head the piny was 24 all. The extra head ended in favour of Otaki, who

scored three. Von Hartish, Russell, McKay, Bailey (s) v. Cook. Anderson, Smith, Brown /gr 17-3-t. In this contest the game was never in doubt, and on the <th head Otaki led. 21-1. The score included a 2,3, 5,4, and a 6, all scored in succession. Hataitai. at a later stave scored two tlirecs and a pair, otherwise their defeat would have been

even greater. Henry. Giles, Kinniburgh, Ward (s) v. Knight, St. George, Smith, Brown ‘ a lead of 9-0 on the 6th head, 21-9 on the 16th head, which, however, was reduced to 21-13 on the ISth head. Jeffery, Ridley’, Bailey, McKay (s) v. Cook, Anderson, Ayrc, Noble (s) 17-26. Otaki’s score consisted of a five, two fours, two threes, two twos, ’ and’ singles, while Hataitai only scored on seven heads, which included a four on the opening head. Henry v. Windley, 1918 (score card incomplete). . Hataitai, 3 games, Otaki 3. Hataitai 129, Otaki 137, leaving Otaki eight points to the good on the aggregate. The visitors were entertained at

afternoon tea. and expressed themselves delighted with the outing.
