Constable Salherley left Otaki tills morning for Auckland, where ho will spend his annual holiday. His place at. Otaki will be tilled by Constable Greggan. of Levin.
Colonel Potter, late Cnnunamhuit at. Treuthi'm, has been appointed Temporary Officer Commanding Auckland District, in succession to the late Colonel Patterson, and leaves to take up bis new duties shortly.
Lieut.-Colonel J. L. Dnigan, late Commandant of the Tunnelling Corps iu France, who recently returned, lms been appointed General .Staff Officer, Auckland District, vice Major Sir Robert Walker, who is leaving for England.
On inquiry at the Otaki (Hospital this afternoon, we ascertained that Sir /- Montague, who was seriously injured as the result of a motor accident at Otaki last week, shows slight improvement in his condition.
Mrs ,T. Ambler, of Cambridge street, Levin, has received advice that her .-on#. Private A. and Rifleman K. S. \udder, and son-in-law. Gunner Norman iiorrotqn, have sailed on a transport on their return to the Dominion, and are expected to arrive at an early date.

We regret to have to record the fact that Mr -T. Bradley, of Otaki, lies seriously ill at l)i. Hstrdwick Smith’s private hospital, in Wellington. Mr Bradley took iii while on a visit to the city .-ome three weeks ago. If well enough, he will be operated upon in a few days' time, and his many friends hope for his speedy recovery.
Ihe golden wedding was celebrated this month at Temuka of Mr and Mrs Andrew Gibson, well-known pioneer residents of the district.
