Suicide of Constable Seymour.

Not a little surprise was caused in New Plymouth on Wednesday morning when it became known that Constable Seymour, who is stationed at Pukearuhe, had committed suicide by shooting himself. Inspector Thomson received the first information, Constable Bleasel wiring as follows : “ Shortly after midnight Walter Davis arrived from Pukearuhe, and reported that, Constable Seymour had shot him-' self dead through the forehead with a revolver at about 7 oplock last evening in a paddock near the Pukearuhe schoolhouse.” The motive for the crime is not known.—News.
