Mr Newton King's Weekly Report. Cattle.—At Stratford, on Tuesday, owing to the raia following on the downpour of the previous day. ihere was a very small muster cf stock. Buyers, however, were present in full force, and all young cattle were in good demand and sold at advanoe rates. I quote—yearlings, 30s 6d to 355; 18month heifers in calf, £2 Gs 6d ; 18 month to 2-year steers, £2los ; springing heifers, £3 3s to £3 12s 6d ; cows forward in calf, £3 7s 6d to £4. At Waiwakaiho, on Thursday, there was a larger muster than for some time. Young stock on the whole were a rough lot, and though there were plenty of buyers bidding throughout was not keen and several lots were passed in, but were nearly all placed after the sale. Calves and yearlings of good quality sold well. Forward springers were also in demand and made good prices. Late calvers and aged cows were not saleable. There was a good •muster of sheep, and a line of really good full mouth ewes were well competed for, older lines were dull of sale, but all sold either at the hammer or privately. I quote—calves 16s to 25s 6d; yearlings, 27s 6d to 83s 6d ; 2 to 2* year steers, £2 19s; 2-year heifers, £2 lis 6d; springers, £4 to £4 9s ; store cows, £2 10s to £3 ; springers, £3 15s to £5 6s ; fat cows, £4 to £4 ss; good full mouth ewes, 6s 4d to 9s Id ; medium do., 4s 4d ; culls, 2s 9d; lambs 8s; 2-tooth wethers (small), 7s 7d.

Egmont Farmers' Union (Ltd.) Report. Hawera, Jane 27. At oar Stratford sale, held on 21st inst., the yards were crowded with stock, fully three times the advertised number coming forward, most of which were young cattle. The attendance was not large, but bidding throughout was fairly brisk, resulting in a good amount of business being transacted. We quote—2 to 2s:year steers, £Blos to £3 15s; 18-month to 2-year steers, £2 2s 6d to £2 la 6d; fat cows, £3los to £4; store do., £2 lis to £3 ss; 2year heifers, £2 15s to £3 15s; yearlings to 15-month mixed, £llss to £2 ; dairy cows and heifers, £4 to £5 ss. A Hawera, on Weduesday, the 26th inst.,.very few of the store stock advertised came forward. The shortage, no doubt, was doe to the unsettled state of the weather. The attendance was larger than usual. Bidding for fat stock was brisk, whilst all other classes' were practically neglected. We quote •r-Fat bullocks, £5 17s 6d to £6 lis; fat cows and heifers, £4 to £4 15s; forward do., £4 8s to £5 9s; dairy cows and heifers, £2 12s 6d to £4. Messrs Hunter and Nolan's Report. Auckland, June 25. Cattle —Dairy stock, were in good SUpplVjuJEew-stores were brought forward, and barely an average number of fat beasts. The butchers and dairy pens at Newmarket on Tuesday were fairly filled, but stores scarce. Competition was good throughout the sale. Dairy cows sold at from £4 10s to £8 ; ox beef, fully £1 per 1001 b ; cow, 17s to 18s; some averages of fat beasts were £9 2s, £8 12s, £8 9s 3d, £7 19s Bd,|7 17s 6d, £7 4s, £6 19s. Cows scarce sold at from £4 10s to £8 ss. Sheep: The Newmarket pens were well filled on Tuesday, and the demand was brisk throughout the sale. Wethers sold at from 8s 9d to 15s ; ewes, 8s 6d to 12s 9d; hoggets, 7s 9d to 9s 3d. Pigs in short supply. Baeoners sold at from £2 5s to £3 12s; porkers, 10s to£l 17s 6d.
